My connection to dance began at just two years of age and has remained a constant throughout my life.

Growing up, I trained in ballet, jazz, tap, musical theatre and national character, and as a teenager began assisting classes at my local dance school. My love of teaching developed early, continuing through high school where I studied contemporary dance and developed and delivered a lunchtime dance program for younger students as part of a peer mentorship initiative.

After high school, I commenced a Bachelor of Education at UniSA before building a career in business leadership and client services.

​

Years later, when my own daughters began dancing, I found myself drawn back to the studio environment that had shaped so much of my childhood and teenage years. Having experienced dance as both a student and a parent, I understand the important role a studio plays not only in a child's development, but also in the lives of the families who support them. 

 

What began as assisting classes soon evolved into a teaching career that has now spanned more than a decade, allowing me to work with hundreds of dancers across a wide range of ages, abilities and aspirations.

Today, I am a dedicated and passionate teacher with experience across all core dance genres and an accredited Acrobatic Arts instructor. I am also currently completing my Diploma of Dance Teaching and Management, further strengthening the practical experience and knowledge I have developed throughout my career.

​

Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching young dancers as they develop their technique, confidence, resilience and a genuine love of dance. Along the way, I have celebrated many achievements alongside my students, including winning results for soloists and teams, choreography awards, and international recognition for outstanding examination performances.

​

While these accomplishments are incredibly rewarding, the achievements I value most are the personal milestones: watching a child grow in confidence, overcome challenges, develop friendships and discover a lifelong passion for dance.   No matter their reason for walking through the studio doors, I want every child to feel seen, encouraged and celebrated.

​

I believe that dance education should be both high-quality and tailored to the individual. It should challenge and inspire students while also providing a safe and supportive environment where they can grow, form friendships and develop confidence that extends beyond the studio.

​

Alongside my teaching career, I have spent more than fifteen years leading teams and working in business management and client services. This experience has shaped the way I lead Evolve Dance Collective, combining strong organisation, professionalism and communication with a genuine understanding of the importance of relationships and community.

​

Most importantly, I believe families are an important part of the journey. Dance creates lifelong memories not only for students, but also for the parents, caregivers and supporters who share those experiences alongside them.

​

My goal is to create a studio where dancers feel encouraged to strive for their personal best, families feel connected and supported, and every student feels proud to belong.

​
