Tiny Dancers

Ages 2.5 - 4 years

Our Tiny Dancers classes gently build early ballet skills and social confidence in a warm, nurturing environment. It’s all about fun, imagination and feeling included from the very beginning.

This class is taught by our principal, who has both experience and education in child development and has raised children of her own. We also have 1–2 younger assistants in the room to make sure every child gets the care and attention they need, and to help them build bonds and connections with other young dancers in the studio.

Ballet

Ages 5+ years

Ballet is the classic foundation for every young dancer, gently building grace, strength and focus. We teach beautiful, clean technique in a caring environment where confidence can grow.

Children start by learning the basic foundations of arm and feet positions, stretched feet and posture and progress to leaps and pirouettes. We teach and use correct ballet terminology.
Ballet classes are a prerequisite for students in Contemporary or Competitive Performance teams.

Jazz

Jazz is energetic and expressive, combining strong technique, coordination, musicality and performance quality.

An encouraging space where every child can grow in confidence and have fun. Exercises are structured so that a strong jazz foundation is built first, with each level naturally progressing skills.

We highly recommend students in our Jazz classes also take our Flex & Strength class to further support their goals.

Dancers can explore their creativity and connect with their emotions in an inclusive, supportive environment.

Students in Contemporary classes must also be undertaking a Ballet class.

Flex & Strength

Ages 5+ years

Flex & Strength class is designed to support every dance style your child learns. In this class, dancers work on safe flexibility, core and leg strength, posture and alignment to help prevent injuries and build strong technique.

We focus on skills that help dancers achieve things like stronger leaps and jumps, higher leg holds and développés, cleaner turns and more controlled splits (including working safely towards front and side splits).

We always teach correct, safe technique and offer options so children of different ages and ability levels can work at their own pace and feel successful.

Students develop body awareness, confidence and control exploring fun new tricks that support their dancing in all styles. Students in Acro dance must also take a Flex and Strength class.

Dance Examinations

Students have the option to take annual dance exams that are based on the work they are already learning in class each week, not extra material.

Exams are designed to be a positive experience, giving children a sense of pride as they demonstrate their hard work and growing skills. They receive a grading before moving to the next level.

Participation is completely optional and can be discussed individually to decide what is best for each child and family.

Competitive Performance Team

Students in our Competitive Performance Team attend an additional weekly class to learn and refine their routines, with a full-year commitment.

Children will compete with their team at selected competitions and also have opportunities to perform at community events.

While this program is invitation-only, we aim to make opportunities available to all children over time. It does require an extra level of dedication to training, support for practice at home, and a strong ability to focus and work as part of a team each week.

Please note that more specific levels, age groups and class times will be added as our collective continues to grow.
